Greetings from Dr B
Hi, Thanks for visiting.
I'm Dr. Jason Birnholz. I thought I should introduce myself. I did my first ultrasound images when I was a Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in 1968. At that time I was most interested in using the brand new technology to identify early signs of coronary artery disease. I became really interested in fetal development and prenatal diagnosis when I had the opportunity of testing and introducing the world's first electronic, high speed ultrasound imaging system in the Radiology Department of Stanford University Medical Center in 1975. Subsequently my appointments included being Radiologist-in-Chief at the Boston Hospital for Women and Professor at the Harvard Medical School, where I developed the technique for ultrasound guidance for needle placements that has become the universal standard. Over the years I have had combined interests in the technology of ultrasound, as well as its clinical application. My particular interests include early embryonic evaluation, fetal growth and neurodevelopmental behavior, and fetal brain development. My private practice is DUC - Diagnostic Ultrasound Consultants in Oak Brook, IL, just west of Chicago. |
